Hyfe · Provider web app

Making the treatment easy to prescribe within existing clinical workflows

Hyfe provider web app

Overview

Hyfe developed a six-week app-based treatment program (digital therapeutic) for chronic cough that patients could only access through a physician's prescription. This made physician adoption essential to reaching patients.

However, physicians have only a few minutes with each patient, leaving little room to introduce new treatments or take on additional administrative tasks. The challenge was designing a provider experience that made it easy to prescribe and manage the treatment without disrupting existing clinical workflows.

Through research with physicians, I identified what the product needed to support in clinical practice and how to connect patients, physicians, and internal operations. I led the design of the provider experience, which is now being evaluated in an 80-patient clinical trial in Japan.

Note: The initial release was developed for Japan, so some of the content shown in this case study is in Japanese.

How the two-sided platform works: provider web app hands off to the patient mobile app

The platform consisted of two connected products: a provider web app and a patient mobile app.

Physicians prescribed the treatment through the provider app. Patients then activated their treatment and completed a six-week behavioral therapy program independently through the mobile app.
