From Concept to Clinical Validation: Transforming a therapy into a scalable digital platform used by patients and providers
Overview
I was the Lead Product Designer for a new digital treatment for chronic cough. I designed both the patient mobile app and provider web app, working closely with patients, clinicians, and behavioral cough therapists throughout the process.
I helped shape the product from an early concept into a platform used in an 80-patient clinical trial.
Outcome at a glance

- Established the foundation for future commercialization across approximately 3,000 clinics.
The platform consisted of two connected products: a provider web app and a patient mobile app.
Physicians prescribed the treatment through the provider app. Patients then activated their treatment and completed a six-week behavioral therapy program independently through the mobile app.
Because patients could only access the treatment with a prescription, we needed to design both sides of the experience: making it easy for physicians to prescribe within their existing workflow, and helping patients understand and complete the treatment on their own.
